International Compost Ltd. (ICL) A Canadian owned and operated company was founded in July 1997. The focus of the company was to divert compostable waste from landfill, while producing a high quality ORGANIC alternative to chemical fertilizers and inorganic potting soil. ICL uses carefully selected organic materials that would otherwise consume valuable landfill space.

By completely composting and breaking down these 100% natural raw materials we are recycling a renewable resource and turning it into our GroundsKeeper’s Pride line of consistent, premium products. Our composting facility is located in Strathmore, Alberta where we annually save 20,000 tonnes (that’s 44,000,000 lbs!) of waste per year from landfill sites.

ICL believes there is a strong movement towards “greening” in the institutional/commercial and industrial sectors. This move reflects a new environmental philosophy that says we must act more responsibly - especially in the area of waste disposal.
